WSET® LEVEL 4 DIPLOMA in Wines & Spirits

Students attending the intensive mode of study for WSET DIPLOMA will gain the opportunity to complete the WSET Diploma within 10 months and also to get acquainted with the most exotic wine producing area of the world which is SANTORINI island.

Students will attend four (4) blocks of study – the biggest block is based in Santorini - plus the examination days. Units 2 and 1 (Viticulture & Vinification) must be completed first and before commencing Units: 3, 4, 5 & 6. All lectures are held in English. The day blocks take place between 9:30 am and 18:30 pm.

Within seven days students will have the opportunity to taste wines from the world-wide renowned Assyrtiko as well as from other obscure local varieties such as Aidani, Katsano, Mandilaria, Mavrotragano, and Voudomato growing on the island’s complex, volcanic soil.

Santorini is unique and one of the most historical wine producing areas in the world, one of the few that remains until today phylloxera free. Students will have the chance to elaborate to Assyrtico grape variety via masterclasses and field presentations from the leading wine producers of Assyrtico in Santorini.

Entry Requirements
It is essential that prior study is undertaken before commencing courses (April 2017). Thus, students should book at least 10 (ten) weeks in ahead of start date. Both courses will be taught by the Award - winning lecturing team of W.S.P.C (“Riedel Trophy of the Best Educator of the year 2009”) and a number of visiting MW’s.
-    A Pass in the Level 3 Advanced Award/ Certificate is required.
-    Students are expected to commit to great and substantial amounts of private study.
-    All sessions are taught in English language.

WSET DIPLOMA Course Price/ Tuition Fees:
Fees include the tuition, classroom, support and samples, Santorini masterclasses and winery visits, the Diploma Study pack plus one calendar year subscription to Jancis Robinson website/ purple pages inclusive (membership for one year starting on the student’s enrollment to the W.S.P.C.) *
    EU Students: €5.980,00 euros
    Overseas Students: €6.170,00 euros

*Jancis Robinson Purple Pages website subscription is offered by W.S.P.C. to Diploma Students registered with W.S.P.C and is non- refundable. Students that are already purple pages members should state their subscription expiry date and W.S.P.C. will renew that on their behalf.

Wines and Spirits Tasting
Over 220 wines and 45 spirits will be tasted over the Diploma course. Students will build up analytical tasting skills focusing on exam technique, exam style-lecturing style to ensure exam success on blind tasting. An excellent range, including many premium wines, personally selected by Konstantinos Lazarakis MW, will be shown/ tasted.

Examinations
Each unit has set exam dates attached to it. The examinations are on fixed days set globally by the WSET Awards.
