Dimitris Motsos
DipWSET - Tutor of WSPC Wine School
Dimitris Motsos is a PhD candidate at Democritus University specializing in cultural diplomacy. In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree in Southeast European studies from the Faculty of Law.
He works as a communications manager in the Directorate of Development and European Planning for the Municipality of Pavlos Melas. In 2011, on a trip to Provence, he becomes acquainted with wine, which proved to be vital for the rest of his life. Since 2014 he has been working as a wine buyer and retail manager at Cava Abatzis in Thessaloniki, while he has organized various workshops and presentations. For the last 5 years he has been providing consulting and support services to restaurants and hotels in Thessaloniki and is a judge in the TIWC & BIWC competitions. In 2013 he founded the blog www.winegeeks.gr and since 2016 he writes about wine and flavors at www.parallaxi.gr and www.andro.gr where he combines his insatiable love for words and wine. He successfully completed the WSET 4 Diploma in Wine and Spirits in 2018 and since 2019 he is a tutor WSPC. In 2020 he was accepted as a student at the Institute of Masters of Wine.
He loves travel, photography and every page written by John Steinbeck and Archibald Joseph Cronin. He is married to Kalliopi and together they have two young boys, Thomas and Iakovos.
