WSET Level 1 in Spirits
The WSET Level 1 in Spirits Award is destined for professionals and wine connoisseurs. It has been designed to provide a reliable but simple introduction to Spirits.
The WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits is a substantial basis for knowledge and skills development in spirits and their styles.
The students of WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits will become familiar with the production process of the principal categories of spirits, their characteristics and the basic principles of tasting, service and cocktails and the correct way for their storage.

The Level 1 Award in Spirits will help anyone who needs to get familiar with the main styles and categories of spirits; for example, it will help Front Line Staff who manage a broad portfolio of alcoholic drinks in retail, wholesale sectors and hospitality.
The key principles of tasting governing both spirits and wines help students in further advancing their studies in sake.

Broadening my studies in Spirits
After the levels of studies in Spirits, WSPC students may enrol in the educational Programs of other alcoholic drinks (wines, sparkling, fortified) through the two international educational organizations: the WSET England (British Certification) and Wine Scholar Guild (American Certification).
Broadening my studies in non Alcoholic drinks
WSPC students not only do they assimilate all knowledge required for the domestic and international market but they also have the possibility to offer themselves the qualifications to successfully work in the broader Tourism market of restaurant service, hospitality and HORECA in general.
The market of outdoor consumption of beverages aimed at its growth through services upgrading in these sectors requires a reliable, certified and impartial training.

The WSPC represents in Greece the educational Programs of Beverage Standards Association of U.K. (BSA), i.e. the association of all companies in Great Britain operating in the production and trading of beverages of coffee, tea, chocolate/cocoa, water and other Non-Alcoholic Beverages.
The Non-Alcoholic Beverages are the most important part of the 5* Star product targeted by WSPC and BSA. For WSPC, coffee, tea, cocoa and smoothies are key products of the 5* Star Experience and 5* Star Education.
The educational Programs BSA Barista Level 1 PLUS & BSA Level 2 PLUS are recognized and certified by the National Vocational System Qualification of Great Britain and are mainly designed by the market for the market!
Although the majority of the coffee service market and hotels does not focus as much on coffee, it is important to learn to invest in Speciality Education just like we invest in Speciality Coffees. In WSPC, our students learn the different types of coffees and teas, how to use them and serve them. For example, they learn that different blends are recommended for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Students learn that, just like in F&B we have a designated centre/cost system for wine; similarly we learn to have a separate centre/system for coffee, tea or smoothies and how it will allow us to invest more in the future.
Students will be taught how the customers view a personalized service and how, when we talk about a 5* Star product, what consumers look out for is the 5* Star experience in a tavern, at sea, on the mountains, in the street, at the hotel!
Finally, WSPC invests in teaching the service itself and the skills that would satisfy customers. We wish we could prepare a simple espresso, with a clean machine, clean cutter, correct weighing, proper pressing and proper flow of water and to have always the perfect product. Imagine though this ‘perfect espresso’ to be served by an impersonal and unapproachable waiter, possibly a little uninterested, wearing a dirty outfit…Definitely, this would be an abrupt downgrading of the product and the customer’s experience…Let us not invest solely in the exotic and rare varieties, unless we have the proper training and unless we are aware of the fundamental principles of non-alcoholic beverages. The food and coffee professionals should always remember that usually customers come for the first time randomly; the second time, they probably come for the location, and if there is a third time, this is for the services provided and the people.
